Airbnb Adventure

The trippy world of Alice in Wonderland is the inspiration for an over-the-top vacation rental in Fort Lauderdale. The five-bedroom layout at 301 Isle of Capri Drive, just a short walk from Las Olas Boulevard, features a Mad Hatter Tea Party dining room, an Enchanted breakfast area, a Distorted Mirrors living room, a human-sized rabbit hole under a hand-painted 3D tree under the staircase—and other novel spaces.

To perfect the Alice in Wonderland concept, designer Dary Rees worked closely with a team of 20 local artists to bring her vision to light. “Creating this house was my dream since I started my business as a vacation rental manager,” she says. “Since I am also a designer, I always aim to add art and design aspects to all my properties, to make them unique and stand out from others.”

The spectacular villa features room for the entire group to spread out and enjoy: two king bedrooms and three queen bedrooms plus four and half bathrooms. Standouts include: The Queen Of Mending Hearts bedroom, which Rees says “is about a good queen with good intentions to help lovers come back together, but who also has a short temper. If the lovers are difficult to deal with, she just screams, ‘Off with their heads!’” The Mushroom Forest bedroom is an adult intake of Alice walking in a forest of huge mushrooms, and in Rees’ story, “those are glow-in-the-dark psychedelic mushrooms.” The Very Scary Forest bedroom is “a really creepy room where the dark shadows of the forest try to catch you while you sleep. You can also see glow-in-the-dark eyes, watching you there,” she explains. Visit bit.ly/flwonderland for more details.
