Around the world, people are thanking the first responders who are putting their lives on the line to save others during the coronavirus pandemic. Everyone from Priyanka Chopra and young royals to thousands in New York City are clapping in appreciation, united in their efforts to salute.
And now Broken Sound Club is joining in the worldwide show of appreciation with the “home porch applause.” Starting tonight, Broken Sound Club lights up the sky with a searchlight tribute, inviting residents in a 5-mile radius to go to their front yards and join in a collective three-minute applause for city and county leadership, firefighters, truckers, grocery store and restaurant workers, healthcare workers and others.
“We at Broken Sound Club are joining the great cities throughout Europe that are lighting up their communities as a bright beacon of hope and gratitude for those working ‘round the clock at their own self-sacrifice to heal, save and protect lives,” said Broken Sound general manager and chief operating officer John Crean. “We wanted to provide a way to come together as a club community while well-distanced, and the ‘front porch’ applause plan is the ideal way to ‘sound’ our message and inspire others to join us. We encourage everyone to be as loud as possible in their personal participation, which can include beeping car horns and cheering.”
The searchlight tribute will be on from 8 to 10 p.m. every night through April 12. Broken Sound Club is located at 2401 Willow Springs Drive, Boca Raton. Visit brokensoundclub.org.
