The cancellation last month of Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center’s (CDTC) annual fundraiser prompted the nonprofit organization’s newest board member to jump into the charity deep end.
Captain Lee Rosbach, star of the Bravo series Below Deck, has launched the “Captain’s Crew” in the hopes of recovering some of the funds that would have been raised at CDTC’s signature event, the Waterway Soirée. Rosbach’s virtual fundraising campaign is looking to raise no less than $15,000 between now and June 29; the dollars will support children with special health care needs in Broward County. CDTC serves more than 12,000 clients annually, providing comprehensive prevention, intervention and treatment services.
“I’m going to be your captain as we raise funds together to help children with special health care needs in our community,” Rosbach says. “These children have unique and complicated medical needs, and their families were living below the poverty level even before the pandemic. We’re working to ensure these hardships do not prevent these kids from receiving much-needed medical care so we can keep families healthy and happy.”
Each member of the “Captain’s Crew” will receive a personal thank you from Rosbach; supporters who raise $1,300 or more by June 29 will receive a special invitation to meet Captain Lee at a celebration later in the year.
