Children’s Harbor Hosts Safe Harbor Society Mixer on Wednesday

The quarterly event allows guests to enjoy cocktails and networking opportunities while receiving updates on the nonprofit.

The quarterly Safe Harbor Society Mixer hosted by Children’s Harbor will occur from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 23 at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club located at 2800 Yacht Club Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. The event is made possible by the sponsorship of M.A. Construction Group. The public is invited to attend and support the nonprofit agency’s mission to strengthen struggling families in the community and provide a safe haven and support to foster care teens to help them grow into healthy, educated and productive adults.

The Safe Harbor Society is dedicated to cultivating a network of Harbor Keepers, a group of community advocates committed to improving the lives of foster children affected by trauma and neglect. These leaders aim to empower at-risk children and families with the resources to overcome their hardships and thrive as healthy, educated, and productive individuals.

Children’s Harbor is a place of refuge and restoration for children who have experienced the devastating effects of child abuse. Their primary location in Pembroke Pines offers a nurturing family atmosphere for teenagers in foster care and their younger siblings. To prevent children from entering foster care, their family strengthening program provides in-home counseling and assistance to families experiencing community difficulties. For those who have transitioned out of foster care, they provide housing, life skills training, and comprehensive support to overcome their trauma and successfully navigate through the early stages of adulthood with their independent living programs.

Tickets are $35 and additional donations are also welcome. To purchase tickets, visit here. For more information, call 954-252-3072 or visit childrensharbor.org
