Since launching the business out of Delray Beach in 2009, Delivery Dudes has taken its innovative concept—home delivery of food orders from popular local restaurants—and expanded it to more than 70 cities in Florida, Tennessee and Pennsylvania. But the Dudes’ latest expansion has nothing to do with restaurants. And everything to do with safety concerns.
For a fee of $5, Delivery Dudes is offering pick-up and delivery of groceries, prescriptions and essential supplies for residents in east Delray Beach who are concerned about leaving their homes. The new concept, called Dudes Bodega, is expected to expand into other cities already offering Delivery Dudes services.
“We want to do anything we can to help the community during this crazy, unpredictable time,” says Jayson Koss, founder of Delivery Dudes.
As part of its increased safety protocol, Delivery Dudes works with a healthcare professional that trains team members to conduct health and temperature checks before every shift. DD drivers report each day at a designated driver hub before starting their shift.
