Discover The Palm Beaches Announces 2023 Providencia Award Winners

The awards help honor the local tourism community.

Palm Beach County’s official tourism agency, Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB), recently revealed the winners for its annual Providencia and Partners of the Year. The Providencia Award is granted to a local business, organization, or individual who has made an exceptional contribution to The Palm Beaches’ prosperity as a desirable tourist destination and is chosen by popular vote from the public. This year, the three finalists for the Providencia Award were PGA National Resort, The Colony Hotel Palm Beach, and the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Palm Beach Chapter. Meanwhile, the Partner of the Year Awards is given out every year to a local hotel or resort and a non-accommodation partner, which are voted on by the DTPB team.

The award winners were:

  • 31st Providencia Award Winner – The Colony Hotel Palm Beach
  • Accommodation Partner of the Year – Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa
  • Non-accommodation Partner of the Year – National Croquet Center

The agency’s yearly Travel Rally Day celebration brought together local tourism and hospitality members to recognize the industry’s commitment to supporting the local economy and promoting collaboration within the tourism community. In 2022, The Palm Beaches saw a record-breaking 9.2 million visitors who contributed over $6.7 billion in total spending to the community, generating more than 92,000 jobs in the Palm Beach County area through the local travel and hospitality industry. This celebration, organized by DTPB, is a part of the United States Travel Association (USTA) sanctioned National Travel and Tourism Week.

Key speakers included:

  • Jorge Pesquera, president and CEO of Discover the Palm Beaches
  • Verdenia Baker, Palm Beach County Administrator
  • Maria Marino, County Commissioner District 1
