How did your dog come into your life, and how has your relationship grown over time?
Coco literally picked me. On my way to a move, there she was—this tiny little pup on the street. I was late to a client, but luckily the guy had three dogs himself—so he understood when I had to switch gears to rescue Coco. She was only about three months old then, and let’s just say she’s been my little shadow ever since. She’s got a scar from her past, but she’s all heart. Now, we’re inseparable—she rides with me, keeps me company, and reminds me every day that I got lucky when I found her.
Share a memorable or funny moment involving your dog that you’ll never forget.
One Sunday, we’re having breakfast on a café patio, and this rough-looking guy rolls up on a bike. He asks for money, then wants to pet Coco. I tell him, “Nah, she bites.” (She doesn’t.) But this guy doesn’t believe it. As soon as he steps closer, Coco gets up, does this badass mohawk thing on her back, shows teeth, and gives a low growl. Let’s just say—problem solved. I was impressed. She’s sweet—but she’s got my back.
What has been the greatest blessing your dog has brought to your life?
Coco’s been a daily reminder that sometimes, the best things happen when you least expect them. She’s brought joy, loyalty, and a reminder that even on a stressful day of moves, there’s something more important waiting for me at home. She’s not just a dog—she’s my little partner in crime.
