Feel the Float

The healing and overall wellness benefits of floatation therapy receive the big-screen treatment in Fort Lauderdale courtesy of the team behind Float8 Wellness Lounge. Savor Cinema (503 SE Sixth St.) presents an exclusive showing of Floating, a documentary on the subject by filmmakers Bridger Dropp and Shane Scott, on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m.

Counter Culture Kombucha and Odyseey Elixir will be providing complimentary welcome beverages prior to a film that promises to educate viewers on the isolation treatment that involves floating on a warm bed of Epsom salt and water. Proponents of floating therapy point to benefits like stress and pain relief, restful sleep, decreased blood pressure, skin/hair enhancement, and a strengthened immune system.

Float8 has South Florida locations in Deerfield Beach (616 SE 10th St.) and Fort Lauderdale (714A NE 13th St.); a Delray Beach lounge is expected to open soon.

Tickets are $20 via Eventbrite. Visit float8ion.com for information and floating therapy pricing.
