In this special to Lifestyle Media Group, the Fort Lauderdale/Broward chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals invites the community to honor volunteers at its annual awards ceremony.
Every November, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) celebrates philanthropy by honoring those who have demonstrated exemplary support of the charitable organizations they love. On Nov. 10, the Fort Lauderdale/Broward chapter of AFP, will host the first-ever virtual celebration. The 33rd annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD), presented by the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, will give special recognition to those who went above and beyond to offer support in a variety of ways during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our “Heroes Among Us” theme will honor the best in the categories of individual, company, organization and youth. In addition, we will honor the outstanding Philanthropist of the Year and pay a special memorial tribute to Lorraine Thomas.
For the past 32 years, AFP has celebrated philanthropic greatness and given nonprofit organizations a platform to recognize those who have truly stepped up to provide awareness and financial resources to worthy charities in Broward county. AFP is dedicated to fostering the development and growth of fundraising professionals and promoting the highest ethical standards in the fundraising profession. The annual NPD Awards is our way of promoting and celebrating the impact we collectively have on our community as well as raising funds to help our professional members achieve their fullest potential.
Proceeds from this event will provide scholarships for professional education and advancement as well as funds for special education opportunities. Your support will literally help shape the quality of fund development practices in dozens of organizations across Broward as well as improve the lives of millions of residents who rely on the organizations we serve.
More than 500 attendees, including South Florida’s most well-regarded philanthropists, CEOs, board members and nonprofit executives, attend this prestigious event every year. During these trying and uncertain times, philanthropy must still continue, and those that shine the brightest lights must be celebrated.
Please join us on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at noon. To receive the link to attend via Zoom, visit AFPBroward.org. For questions, contact Traci Allyn Shur, NPD chair, at 786.213.0003 or [email protected].
