H.O.M.E.S., Inc. Hosts Hibachi Showdown  in Fort Lauderdale

Proceeds from the culinary event will benefit the nonprofit’s affordable housing programs and services for youth.

H.O.M.E.S., Inc.’s Hibachi Showdown will bring the community together for a night of culinary thrills, entertainment, delectable cuisine and support for the community. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the H.O.M.E.S., Inc. Outdoor Garden in Fort Lauderdale (690 NE 13th St.), local personalities will collaborate with skilled hibachi chefs to showcase their cooking prowess at interactive hibachi tables, vying for the prestigious title of “Master Chef” which will be awarded to the honorary chef who garners the most “tips” donated to their campaign.

The sponsorships and tip donations will go directly towards providing housing support services for young adults who have transitioned out of foster care, as well as low- to moderate-income seniors and families experiencing homelessness. Julie Guy and Tamara G. from the 101.5 LITE FM Morning Show will be the hosts for the evening.

Established in 1998 by Katharine S. Barry, Housing Opportunities, Mortgage Assistance, & Effective Neighborhood Solutions, Inc. (H.O.M.E.S., Inc.) has been dedicated to building homes and communities for at-risk, lower-income, and disadvantaged residents and neighborhoods of Broward County for the past 25 years. The programs offered by H.O.M.E.S. aim to provide access to tools and opportunities that assist communities in revitalization efforts and enable individuals to achieve greater financial self-sufficiency.

Tickets to the event are $175 and can be purchased at www.handyinc.org/events/homes-hibachi-showdown/
