Helping Abused Neglected Disadvantaged Youth (HANDY) will use a new format at its 15th “Annual Scholars Breakfast Dream It. Believe It. Become It.” The annual event will be hosted virtually via Remo from 8 to 10 a.m. May 21.
The event will be presented by the Moss Foundation to honor HANDY’s 2020-21 Graduating Scholars, Champions of Children, the Lifetime Award and the Legacy Award honorees.
Due to the online format, breakfast will be delivered to each guest’s office or home. The event will be hosted by Lt. Robert Furman of the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Kirk Brown, CEO of HANDY. Shane Salter will be the guest speaker.
HANDY was established by Ed Pudaloff in 1985 to provide support and educational opportunities to abused and neglected children in Broward County. Along with Pudaloff, Marti Huizenga and Kathy Jackson helped established committees and scholarship funds for the nonprofit organization. Since its inception, more than 45,000 children in Broward County have been helped by HANDY.
