Jai alai returns to The Casino at Dania Beach

South Florida’s sports landscape is looking bright with the announcement of a new jai alai season.

Known as the world’s fastest game, the 2021 jai alai season begins February at the Casino @ Dania Beach, which has hosted the game for 60 years.

The season runs Feb. 3 through April 30 with games running as follows: Wednesday and Saturday matinees (1 p.m.); Wednesday through Saturday evenings (7 p.m.); and Sunday afternoons (4 p.m.)

The casino is following Broward County’s Safe + Clean Pledge to keep fans safe: inside, the fronton has been modified to account for 6-foot physical distancing between fans with reduced capacity from 400 to 75 guests. Fans can also use new self-betting stations. Those who prefer to stay home can stream the games live and wager online.

“We look forward to welcoming back our loyal fans and greeting newcomers to the Fronton for another exciting season of Jai-Alai,” said Arnaldo Suarez, CEO of The Casino @ Dania Beach. “Through our commitment to Visit Lauderdale’s Safe + Clean Pledge, we are more prepared than ever, and our staff and players are looking forward to another great season.”

Other safety protocols include one main point of entry at the fronton entrance by the guest parking lot, required face masks and more.
