John Knox Village Hosts Bevy of Performances at Cultural Arts Center 

Tickets are now available for spring and summer shows.

John Knox Village (JKV) in Pompano Beach features an exciting lineup of Spring and Summer 2023 performances at its newest campus addition, the $34 million Pavilion, home to the 350+ seat Cultural Arts Center (CAC), now open to the public. 

The person in charge of booking performances at JKV is Jody Leshinsky, the Life Enrichment Manager. Before her role at JKV, Leshinsky served as the Cultural Venues Programming Manager at the Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department, where she was responsible for programming four different cultural venues.

Tuesday, May 23 at 7 p.m.

Milonga Under the Stars: A Great Night of Tango Fusion

John Knox Village presents Anibal Berraute’s “Milonga” Under the Stars, complete with award-winning tango dancers. Berraute is internationally recognized as one of the top pioneers of tango fusion. His improvisational approach delivers an exciting experience that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. Non-resident tickets: $26

Friday, June 9 at 7 p.m.

Get Happy: An Evening Celebrating Judy Garland

It’s been 84 years since the world first heard Judy Garland sing about a place “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and her star power is just as potent as it was back then. Join celebrity impersonator extraordinaire Jenna Pastuszek for the 100th birthday celebration of one of the world’s greatest entertainers. It’s time to celebrate live entertainment again, and “Forget Your Troubles, Come On Get Happy!” Non-resident tickets: $26

Me, Myself & Barbra: An Evening of a Lifetime in the Making

What might happen if you stopped waiting for permission and just started to believe in yourself? Just ask Barbra Streisand. Learn how Barbra’s self-confidence, power, and unique panache inspired a young performer to get out of her way and embrace her kooky self, weird last name, and all that comes with that. Barbra’s early hits like “Happy Days are Here Again,” “Miss Marmelstein,” “Bewitched,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” and more. Non-resident tickets: $26

Matthew Sabatella & the Rambling String Band – A Celebration of American Music

Take a journey through time and celebrate the multicultural nature of the music of the United States of America. Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band perform songs and tell the story that connects traditional folk music, spirituals, fiddle tunes, Appalachian music, ragtime, blues, jazz country, bluegrass and rock and roll. As America changed, grew, and pushed its boundaries, so did the music. Non-resident tickets: $10

Celebration of the Art of Storytelling

Thursday, August 24 at 2 p.m.

Who doesn’t like a good story? It’s been said that the ability to tell, enjoy and experience life through stories is one of the most essential characteristics of being human. Come delight in engaging true and not-so-true tales, and discover why storytelling matters to individuals, families, and society much more than you might imagine.
