Niño Gordo Offers an Explosion of Flavors and Fun

Co-creators Germán Sitz and Pedro Peña bring an amplified version of Buenos Aires' renowned restaurant to Miami.

The Miami counterpart to Buenos Aires’ renowned restaurant that fuses Argentine grilling with Asian techniques, Niño Gordo’s new outpost in Wynwood blends Japanese, Korean and Southeast Asian influences with an Argentine touch. Co-creators Germán Sitz and Pedro Peña want to “bring the fire we ignited in Buenos Aires and make it burn here, where artistic expression and tales of displacement come alive on every corner.”

The interiors burst with color and striking visuals, including a massive mural by Argentine artist Ever Siempre. The Miami location also features Dekotora: a bold component that fuses an elevated cocktail program with a Japanese-inspired menu of crudos, makis, nigiris, and an omakase experience built around top-quality fish.

Signature items will include their famed Katsu Sando with Shokupan Bread, Beef, Tonakatsu and Japanese Mayo alongside reimagined creations like Hamachi with Bell pepper, Enoki, Cucumber and Nori, and the Cauliflower Karaage with Grapes, Cashews and Fresh Herbs.

Rotating projection walls, truck-inspired seating and over-the-top design elements create a sensory playground for guests.

Niño Gordo is located at 112 NW 28th St., Miami; visit niniogordo.us.
