Nov. 17: John Knox Village of Florida and its nonprofit foundation present the inaugural Aging Greatly Symposium—part of a movement to alter the narrative around aging. The all-day event at the JKV Cultural Arts Center, open to the public, boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, including keynote Maria Shriver and best-selling author and co-founder of Real Age Inc., and Michael Roizen (both will address the gathering virtually). Nov. 17: Kick off the holiday season with CP Group at its annual community tree lighting event at Boca Raton Innovation Campus (5:30 to 7:30 p.m.). Expect photo ops with Santa and his reindeer, an activities tent, extreme face painting, food trucks, and performances by students from West Boca Raton Community High School, Grandview Preparatory School and Organic Movements Dance School. Nov. 26-27: The second Art With Me festival, an immersive pre-Art Basel weekend of art, electronic/house music and wellness activities, is for Virginia Key Historic Park Miami. Nov. 29: The Friends of Jack & Jill Center present the 21st annual Stiles Light Up Downtown at the Plaza on Las Olas. Expect light bites, live entertainment and the lighting of a 30-foot Christmas tree. Proceeds from the evening benefit Jack & Jill Center’s ongoing mission to support children of high-need working families through innovative education and programming.
