The Boca Raton Hotel

A reimagined icon blends legacy, leisure, and a distinctly South Florida sense of escape

If mom likes the finer things in life, The Boca Raton is fit for a queen and all her demanding subjects. You’ll be giddy driving down the palm-lined driveway to reach the historic grand dame spanning 200 waterfront acres in Boca Raton. The iconic resort is celebrating its centennial, and even after 100 years, its programming and amenities continue to improve with age. Need proof? The Boca Raton was just awarded quadruple Five-Star status by Forbes Travel Guide—one of only seven resorts worldwide. The best part: with five distinct accommodations, there’s a stylish stay for every type of family. Families and larger groups can spread out in the original 1926 Cloister hotel, rich in architecture and spacious rooms and suites. The newly revamped Tower boasts sweeping ocean views and one- to three-bedroom suites. Picture mom in a window seat, watching boats drift along the waterways while enjoying curated bites and drinks at Top of the Tower, a private lounge. Tower guests also receive priority seating at the pool and beach.

For moms who crave relaxation by the sea, the Beach Club delivers, with sophisticated coastal touches and newly renovated rooms and suites. The only real decision: beach or one of the three pools. A water taxi connects the beachfront property to the main resort, and guests can take a complimentary 15-minute cruise aboard the charming Sorbetto, a peach-hued Fiat boat.

Dog moms will appreciate that the adults-only Yacht Club welcomes dogs—but no kids. This all-suite retreat overlooks the marina and Lake Boca, with complimentary breakfast at Flybridge. In the evening, the restaurant offers a chef-driven, five-course tasting menu.

A luxurious outdoor pool at the Boca Hotel is surrounded by lounge chairs, tall trees, palm trees, and Mediterranean-style buildings with arches and red-tiled roofs under a partly cloudy sky. Lifestyle

Families gravitate toward the Harborside Pool Club, where a winding lazy river, slides, a kids’ splash zone, and luxury cabanas set the scene. When mom needs a break, send the kids to the Banyan Bunch Kids Club and let her retreat to Spa Palmera, a Forbes Five-Star sanctuary inspired by Spain’s Alhambra Palace. A highlight: the Ritual Baths, where she can indulge in a private soak that feels like a Moroccan escape.

Dining is equally compelling, with enough options to keep you on property. Start with brunch at Sadelle’s and end with dinner at standout spots like The Flamingo Grill, where tableside presentations—from Dover sole to banana split flambé—add a sense of occasion. For Mother’s Day weekend, reserve brunch in the Royal Palm Ballroom, complete with live music, build-your-own mimosas at the Bubble Bar, and an indulgent spread of seafood, carved meats, and desserts. Insider tip: surprise her with chocolates or macarons from Maison Rose.
