Florida Renaissance Festival

When: Weekends, Feb. 8-March 22, 10 a.m.-sunset

Where: Quiet Waters Park, 401 Powerline Road, Deerfield Beach

What: Visitors are encouraged to dress up in costume for themed weekends including vikings, time travelers, pirates, and—new this year—heroes and villains and the Tudors/Henry VIII. Plus, the 28th annual festival features an array of artisans, performers and entertainment acts.

Scenes from an Italian Restaurant: The Music of Billy Joel

Where: Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton

What: The storytelling music of Billy Joel comes to life in this production, which combines three of his songs to tell a love story along with music from Elton John and the Four Seasons.

The Academy

Deerfield Beach Pioneer Days

When: Feb. 14-16

Where: Main Beach Parking Lot, 149 SE 21st Ave., Deerfield Beach

What: Deerfield Beach celebrates its origins with a three-day festival with a parade, fireworks, live entertainment, food, carnival and arts and crafts as well as a family fun zone with free popcorn, cotton candy and games.
