Frequently the focus of cosmetic improvement is the face, yet one of the most often neglected, age-telling features is in fact are the hands. Because the skin on the back the hands is extremely thin, loss of natural fat padding over time, will readily reveal wrinkles, skin laxity and worst of all – the underlying structures such as tendons and veins, making you look older than you really are.

Recreation of those youthful, beautiful looking hands is no longer unreachable. Over the counter hand creams might make your hands feel softer but they are unlikely to have significant improvement on appearance. Hand rejuvenation or Hand Lift is often necessary to reverse the ageing process and turn back the clock.

The latest technology advancement has given us a new effective method that can restore volume with a hyaluronic acid (Restylane) and the healthy texture to our hands, without the need of surgery.

Restylane, a hyaluronic acid filler, just received FDA approval for use on hands, making it the first injectable of its kind to receive FDA approval for use outside the face. Following a study of 89 patients, Restylane Lyft got the stamp of approval to treat age-related volume loss in the back of the hands.

Hyaluronic acid is actually naturally-occurring in the tissues of the body. It’s a type of sugar that’s found in the skin and cartilage, according to the FDA. Even so, patients who get the injectables shouldn’t expect the results to last a lifetime. The effects of the injections only last about 6 to 12 months.

If you’re considering hand rejuvenation injections, be sure to schedule a consultation with Rachael Storm.  She is board-certified Nurse Practitioner and aesthetics expert who offers patients high-quality aesthetic facial treatment services. Consultation is KEY, and she will discuss how her treatments and others will work best for keeping your hands, face and neck healthy and rejuvenated.
