What’s On Deck This Weekend

Check out these entertainment and fundraising events on tap for this weekend:

Entertainment at the Arsht

Last month, the Adrienne Arsht Center debuted a roster of Live on the Plaza performances and workshops for kids that continues to roll on throughout May. Highlights include:

  • Sol and The Tribu (May 7 at 7:30 p.m.): Caribbean music meets modern technology, with a touch of Miami tossed in, when this group of Cuban musicians takes the stage. Grammy-nominated Sol Ruiz, a native of Miami, leads the band. Tickets are $15.
  • Pour Your Art Out—Mosaic Art (May 8, 1 p.m.): This interactive art workshop explores the methods and creative possibilities involved with mosaic making. Children ages 5 and up are invited; each child will receive an art kit upon arrival. Tickets are $15.

 

Flip Flops on the Docks

When: May 8

What: The 16th annual event supports the benevolent work done by the Jack & Jill Center and its mission to break the cycle of poverty for children of high-need working families through its learning programs and elementary school. The casual gathering, set along the Intracoastal Waterway, promises light bites, cocktails and live music—as well as live and silent auctions.
