5 Family-Friendly Spring Break Activities in South Florida

Florida Renaissance Festival 

Travel through time to the RenFest for a fun-filled day of live entertainment, medieval food and shopping. Enjoy demonstrations from the H.M. Royal Artillery, Live Steel Fighting and the medieval trebouchet and get into the spirit of the Renaissance with human-powered games like the Giant Rocking Horse, Flying Carrousel and the Hurlinator. This festival is the perfect daytime experience for the entire family.

Dinosaur Invasion 

If your little ones love the biggest and the baddest, check out South Florida Science Center’s newest exhibit featuring life-size animatronic dinosaurs. This indoor and outdoor experience takes you back in time to an era when dinosaurs roamed the earth and lets you see how you measure up to these massive creatures. Travel through different continents to learn about the dinosaurs that lived there and learn hands-on about tectonic plates, geological formations and fossils.

Singer Island

For an adventurous day of snorkeling, sand, and scuba diving, visit Florida’s John D. MacArthur State Park on Singer Island. This park includes a two-mile expanse of beaches with ample snorkeling opportunities and mangrove forests that visitors can bike or hike through. The park also hosts outdoor festivals and events that are free for all families.

Miami Dade County Fair

You’ll never have the same day twice at this fair that’s fun for all ages. Enjoy unique entertainment like the Royal Hanneford Circus, the Giant Bubble Show, a special Bee Gees Tribute Show and Show Me Safari pig races. Kids can interact with animals at a variety of shows and petting zoos located throughout the fair or see the RoboCars up close as they zip around the fairgrounds.

World’s Biggest Bounce House 

Jump for joy at the Big Bounce America touring event in Miami.
