22nd Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon and Fashion Show

THE EVENT  In celebrating the spirit of Mother’s day, HMHB will be honoring an outstanding group of individuals who have exemplified exceptional qualities of kindness, caring, sacrifice and generosity to children and the community. Join celebrity hostess Chanel from MIA 93.9 as the honorees stroll the runway in fashions by Tommy Bahama. 

The 2014 honorees are: Amy Siskind, Jewish Federation & Touch-A-Heart; Anne V. Gallagher Alper, Children’s Aid Club, HANDY & Florida Children’s First; Beth–Ann Krimsky, I Care I Cure Childhood Cancer Foundation, CAC2; Debbie Covert, JFS/Kolot, RAKPAK & Women’s Philanthropy of Broward; Elena Ortiz, Nativity School; Lanalee Araba Sam, M.D., Broward County Medical Association & Women in Distress and Michele Alter, American Cancer Society.  Diane Strempel, HMHB Volunteer is the Grandmother of the Year. Michael Farver, End Childhood Hunger, Farver Foundation & Florida Impact; Michael Lee, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Fatherhood graduate are the two Fathers of the Year.  Finally, the Guardian Angels are Sheriff and Susan Israel, Special Olympics, SOS Children’s Village and Broward Sheriff’s Office. 

There will be a silent and live auction along with a Grand Raffle Prize drawing of a Phillip Stein Watch 1/$25 or 6/$100.

THE CAUSE  Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County is a non-profit, community based 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to reduce infant deaths by strengthening families through a comprehensive approach to prenatal care, parenting, education and support services. The goal is for babies to be born healthy and celebrate the first years of their life in a caring and safe environment. Learn more at www.hmhbbroward.org
