Jenna White

What do you get when you mix a passion for jewelry, art, fashion and home furnishings with a Coconut Grove upbringing? Jenna White.

When you walk into the all-white, beautifully appointed and merchandised store, you are reminded that all of these passions of the heart come together quite naturally. White opened her doors eight years ago, showcasing her own jewelry designs by merchandising them with clothing and other accessories. She continued to add more, and relatively unknown, designers to the mix, and just three years ago moved to a more prominent address on Sunset Drive, in the heart of the South Miami shopping district. With a more fine-tuned collection, which now includes fine jewelry and home furnishings, Jenna White is a mainstay.

A self-proclaimed fashion and style junkie, White says her own style is free of the traditional fashion rules. “I love putting things together that maybe shouldn’t go together,” she says. “I go out of my way and scour a place until I find that perfect piece that I can’t live without.” Her no-rules sensibility and love of all things stylish, works for her customers as well. “We try to buy for the woman that does everything; she’s the wife, the mom, the socialite, and the professional. We tailor to women who want to be cool, comfortable, fashion forward and make a statement,” says White. “Our client is the boutique shopper that wants the advice of a true stylist. I always make sure to dress someone so that their style reflects their individual personality, while making a statement.”

At Jenna White, shoppers will find some familiar names, albeit curated enough to the specific store clientele that frequent shoppers shouldn’t expect to see the same old department store offerings. Along with some well-known designers, White says she tried to pay homage to up and coming designers, with a younger twist and edge. In fact, she and her staff have honed the art of “mixing it up” to create a style all their – or the customer’s – own.

White also takes pleasure in introducing her clientele to labels from across the globe, giving them sneak peeks into her buying trips (and talent for styling a look) via her popular Instagram feed @jennawhitemiami. “We love picking up lines from other countries; for example, for fall we have Camilla & Marc arriving from Australia, Alice McCall arriving from Australia, Iro arriving from France and Essential arriving from Antwerp,” she says, admitting that they remain loyal to favorites such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Sea New York, 10 Crosby Derek Lam, TIBI, Rebecca Taylor, Miguelina and Veda.

Accessories bring the same diversity. The jewelry offered can run from fine 18k gold and precious stones, to hard-to-find costume pieces from Erikson Beamon, Lizzie Fortunato, Jennifer Behr and Vintage Chanel. Missoni, Alexandra Von Furstenberg and Jonathan Adler create the colorful, and very beautiful, home selection. Says White, “Since print and patterns are personal, we try to only buy items that we believe will have longevity and are an emotional purchase.”
