The Museum on Main Street (MoMs) Grant from the Florida Humanities Council was awarded to Pinecrest Gardens to host the Smithsonian exhibit “The Way We Worked,” which will be on tour over the next two years. The grant was only presented to five other cities in Florida, making this a prestigious honor and further positioning Pinecrest Gardens as a cultural park.
The exhibition draws from the central theme of how work is a strong element in American culture. Drawn from the National Archives collections, this exhibit spans 150 years and covers how changes affected both the workforce and their environments during this period.
MoMs is a partnership of state humanities councils nationwide and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES). Smithsonian exhibitions focus on broad topics of our national history and use the expertise and resources of our local communities to bring them to our communities.
