It’s that time of year again to stock up on candy and dig out the Halloween decorations. Here are a few events around town to take the kids (and pets) to this Halloween season.
Halloween Love
Ready for some scary fun? The Eric Kantor Tennis Academy will be putting on its yearly Halloween party. Wear your favorite costume, play tennis, win candy and go through the scary Halloween tunnel!

Halloween Spooktacular
Come celebrate Halloween a few days early in your favorite costume. Decorate your very own trick-or-treat bag, play fun games, watch the classic “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and more. The event is for kids ages 3 to 6 (parent participation is mandatory) WHEN: Oct. 23,
6 to 7 p.m.
WHERE: Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road COST: $15 for residents; $20 for nonresidents. Preregistration is required by walk-in at the Community Center or online at coconutcreek.net/webtrac by Oct. 9.

Howl-O-Ween
Dogs of all sizes are welcomed to dress in their best costume. Each dog will receive his or her own goody bag and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. There will also be a designated photo area to take pictures with your dog.

WHERE: Dog Park in Windmill Park, 700 Lyons Road
COST: Free for all participants, but you must preregister at the Community Center by Oct. 16. There is limited space for only 30 pooches.

Paint-A-Pumpkin
Have fun and prepare for trick-or-treating all at the same time! There will be two sessions to paint a pumpkin and a trick-or-treat bag. WHEN: Ages 5 to 10: Oct. 19, 6 to 7 p.m.; ages 2 to 4: Oct. 30,

Promenade Trick or Treat
Join your friends at the Promenade for a night of not-so-scary fun. Go trick-or-treating in a well-lit, safe place and enter the costume contest hosted by J. Douglas Jewelers. Contest prizes will include gift cards and special treats from your favorite Promenade retailers.
WHEN: Oct. 31, costume contest and trick-or-treating begin at 6 p.m. (while candy supplies last)
