Shades of Summer

We feel pretty! The upscale beauty brand Jane Iredale, whose London-born founder learned her tricks of the makeup trade as a casting director and producer in New York City, is launching its Summer 2019 collection next month. We’ll be rushing over to the Nordstrom counter—or clicking on Iredale’s own website—to get the Nude Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen ($47) and the Giddy & Pout LipDrink Lip Balm ($17). Blight into Might

Like FAT Village and MASS District before it, the 13th Street Corridor in Fort Lauderdale has been receiving public funding to give you and your friends more fun things to do off the strip of Federal Highway. Describing the area as a “desperate situation” 10 years ago, Tim Smith, former District Two commissioner and founder of the Central City Alliance, has led the crusade to improve lighting and roads. Businesses are now flocking to the area: Check out the Friday night beer garden and live music at Odd Balls Nifty Thrift, a seven-room treasure trove; celebrate local creativity at the District 13 art gallery and event space; hold your business meetings at Warsaw Coffee Company; or empower your body and mind at Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu Training Center.

Thinking ahead by searching for the hottest luxury “toy” of the summer? Don’t worry: We found it for you. Swedish sports label Radinn introduces the G2X electric jet board, which started as a student project when founder Alexander Lind integrated an engine into a surfboard. The easy-to-master device propels watersport enthusiasts, especially those who crave the wave, to new speeds. Approximately $11,152. (radinn.com)

Bubbling Over

We’re toasting to the new partnership between two luxury brands: Celebrity Cruises and Veuve Clicquot Champagne. The Edge (pictured above), Celebrity’s most technologically-advanced ship to date, features “The Magic Carpet,” a 90-ton, tennis court-sized exterior moving platform bar that offers passengers the memorable experience of flying high above the sea. Veuve Clicquot’s signature “Clicquot Yellow” is prominently featured there. Cruisers can also enjoy a host of other Veuve Clicquot offerings. (celebritycruises.com)
