The epicurean treats at Baha Mar, alone, are enough to distinguish it as an unparalleled luxury resort experience. In addition to casual stops, highlights abound in both categories when it comes to sophisticated offerings.
Café Boulud: Internationally renowned chef Daniel Boulud brings his exquisite French fare to Baha Mar. The tightly curated menu speaks to Boulud’s four culinary muses—La Tradition (classics/country cooking), La Saison (spring flavors), La Mer (sea-inspired fare) and Le Voyage (world discoveries).
Carna: The first partnership outside of Italy with eighth-generation master butcher Dario Cecchini delivers a world-class steakhouse experience. Australian and Japanese wagyu selections are aged, depending on the cut, for anywhere from 21 to 31 days; for heartier appetites, there’s a 50-ounce wood-grilled and broiled tomahawk steak.
Cinko: The diverse flavors of South America and Asia find common ground inside one of the first Asian/Latino-inspired kosher restaurants. Cinko offers Shabbat dinner and lunch for observant guests throughout the year.
Cleo Meditteráneo: Baha Mar’s iteration of chef Danny Elmaleh’s acclaimed concept spins some local Bahamian ingredients into the Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
Costa: Diners enjoy more than just the lush gardens and pools at Rosewood from the open-air cabanas where meals are served. The menu of tacos, seafood and farm favorites seamlessly meshes coastal cuisines with Mexican flavors.
Katsuya: Master sushi chef Katsuya Uechi’s innovative take on traditional Japanese fare finds an equally stylish backdrop inside this restaurant conceived by designer Philippe Starck.
Marcus at Baha Mar Fish & Chop House: Marcus Samuelsson, the esteemed Ethiopian-born chef behind Red Rooster in Harlem, New York, brings Bahamian ingredients to life amid a menu of seafood delights, prime cuts and comfort food classics (think shrimp and grits).
Shuang Ba: The restaurant’s chic, stylish décor sets an appropriate tone for haute Chinese cuisine at its finest. Think hand-carved Peking duck, “cherry” foie gras, stir-fried spiny lobster tail and more.
Jazz Bar: Baha Mar puts its luxury stamp on the standard piano bar at this spot featuring live music nightly—and a menu of rich small plates (think Kobe beef sliders, wild mushroom bruschetta, and prawns in chili and garlic).
Manor Bar: This adults-only salon at Rosewood, brimming with dark woods, takes a classic approach to handcrafted cocktails—and features a standout selection of wines and top-shelf spirits.
Monkey Bar: The elegant lobby bar at SLS Baha Mar boasts a menu of light bites (truffle fries, oysters, smoked chicken wings, beef empanadas) to go with specialty cocktails (like Dark & Stormy Little Sky with Gosling’s dark rum and Fever Tree ginger beer) and high-end wines and spirits. Plus, there’s a weekend DJ.
Skybar: The aptly named concept at SLS Baha Mar, one that originally launched on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, serves as the island’s only rooftop lounge.
T2 Cigar Bar: Credit Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake with a concept that includes a curated collection of high-end cigars, along with top-shelf spirits, coffee drinks, mojitos and more.
The Royal Treatment
As masterfully designed golf backdrops go, the jaw-dropping natural splendor of Royal Blue at Baha Mar stands alone. No less an authority than Golfweek concurs; the monthly publication ranked the Jack Nicklaus Signature layout as the top-ranked course in the Bahamas as part of its “Best 2022” compilation.
And with good reason. The 7,153-yard championship tract (from the back tees; it’s a still-challenging 6,433 yards from the middle tees) presents two distinct experiences within one 18-hole course.
The front nine dazzles with undulating fairways, white sand dunes and views of the Atlantic Ocean; the back nine forces players to recalibrate thanks to limestone “moonscapes,” jungle foliage and steep elevation changes. There’s even an island green bordering Lake Cunningham at the majestic par 3, 16th hole that recalls the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass.
But the bells and whistles at Royal Blue aren’t all connected to the golf club’s aesthetic drama. Travelers don’t even need to bring their sticks on the trip thanks to Baha Mar’s “Better Than Your Own” rental program, featuring PXG high-performance clubs (considered among the best in the sport). In addition, the teaching pros at Royal Blue have access to cutting-edge assessment software.

Travel & the Pandemic Era
As part of its world-class service, Baha Mar has a Travel With Confidence program for people who test positive for COVID-19 while at the resort. “If you’d like to get home quickly, we’ll fly you back to the [United States] in a private jet for free,” Davis says. “Or, we’ll pay for your quarantine for up to 10 days.”
