Broward Partnership Hosts Chefs Homelessness Fundraiser

The organization aims to empower those experiencing homelessness by promoting independence and self-worth through advocacy, housing and comprehensive services.

South Florida’s finest chefs and restaurants will unite to support a great cause on Sept. 30. Chefs Helping the Homeless, presented by Lauderdale BMW of Pembroke Pines, has been a yearly event since 2007 that has been captivating diners and supporting the mission of Broward Partnership to fight homelessness in the county.

“We are so excited about the opportunity to give back to a population that is often overlooked and marginalized,” Broward County Sheriff’s Office Colonel Josefa Benjamin says. “As a department, we have identified it is both greater to give than to receive, in addition, we remain committed to being a part of a mission that is bigger than us and to that end, it is our honor to serve alongside you. “

Guests at the event are welcomed with a cocktail reception, followed by a short gathering of table hosts who randomly select a number to present to their respective chauffeurs. The chauffeurs, who are the only ones aware of the restaurants corresponding to the numbers, keep the destination a secret and drive the guests in a luxurious limousine to one of our premier dining establishments. Besides enjoying exquisite cuisine, guests will be treated to a tableside visit from the Executive Chef, perfectly paired with wine.

Broward Partnership utilizes all the proceeds to support its essential programs such as healthcare, case management, housing placement, food, and other necessary services that aim to help individuals experiencing homelessness get back on their feet and find stable housing and employment.
