Lorena Cora, Tony & TJ

Serving face, fur, and a little attitude—these Shih Tzus are ready for their closeup.

Tell us about your dog, name, breed and what makes them special:

My dogs’ names are Tony and TJ.  They are both Shih-Tzus.

What makes your dogs special to you?

My dogs are everything to me—they’re my heart, my soul, and the reason I keep moving forward every day. Without them, I honestly wouldn’t be where I am today. They are my constant source of strength, comfort, and joy. They don’t just fill my home with love—they are the very motor that keeps my life going. Their presence grounds me, inspires me, and gives my days meaning. They’re not just pets—they’re family, healers, and the truest companions I’ve ever known.  They have always been there when the rest of the world has not.  They are the light at the end of the tunnel.

How do you juggle your personal/work life with your dog.

The truth is, I don’t separate my life from my dogs—they’re woven into everything I do. As a pet photographer, they’re not only my inspiration but often my assistants, muses, and even my models. Whether I’m editing photos late at night or scouting locations for a shoot, they’re always right there beside me. I make sure their needs are met before I even start my day, and in return, they give me a sense of peace and grounding that helps me stay focused and balanced. My work revolves around the love people have for their pets—and I live that love every single day with mine.

What is your favorite charity/pet organization? Why?

It’s impossible for me to choose just one. There are so many incredible dog rescues in South Florida doing life-saving work every single day, and I have deep admiration for all of them. My heart is with every organization that gives abandoned, neglected, or forgotten dogs a second chance. My dream is to be able to help them all—to use my photography to capture the souls of these amazing animals and help them find the loving homes they deserve. If I could photograph every single adoptable dog in South Florida, I would. That’s where my heart truly is.
