The Divas are Coming!

Glam-A-THON™ catapulted into the 21st century when it launched its kitchy breast cancer event series onto the scene in 2006. The concept? Create a curated bazaar of the tastiest artisan food & dessert purveyors, hip jewelry designers, fashion visionaries and talented artists, all in the name of assisting breast cancer patients in South Florida. Seek the coolest venues and launch outrageous events that team cocktails, cosmetics, confections and couture. Over the past six years Glam-A-THON™ has donated gobs of cash and changed lives in the South Florida community by donating much needed funds to breast cancer patients while subscribing to the hipster credo ‘Strap on your Stilettos – the Divas are Coming’!

Fashion glitterati—models, editors, local celebrities, and regular folk—turn out in looks as compelling as those that made the runways. But as a stroll through Esplanade Park proves, glamorous women and men plan all year for this special October occasion that is marked by an extraordinary abundance of pink feather boas and more Swarovski crystals than you can bat a heavily mascara’d eyelash at. Looking over-the-top, yet put together is the raison d’etre, for the event series supported by a powerful message to Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye. Of course it’s not what they wear but how they put it together, which is always riotous and incredibly inspiring.

Divas of all ages, shapes, and shoe sizes unite for two back to back weekends of fashion pandemonium beginning with the Lipstick Lounge on October 5th at the Broward Center, and culminating with the Glam Doll Strut on October 13th in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Divas and dudes invade Himmarshee Village sporting perfect pedicures, sassy stilettos and are often accompanied by diva doggies. Everyone will be dripping in fur, diamonds and tiaras, as they strut their stuff for a chance to become this year’s Glam-A-THON™ Queen – topped off with a magnificent pageant crown. In fact, Glam-A-THON™ is bold enough to proclaim it is the only pageant in America where the crown can be bought (for a very worthy cause)! Net proceeds from all Glam-A-THON™ events will benefit Broward Health Foundation including the Lillian S Wells Women’s Center, Broward Health Coral Springs, and the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund.

Photogs love the Lipstick Lounge and Glam Doll Strut, where you will catch them snapping hundreds of cool-girls and guys in an array of fashion forward trends. Somehow everyone looks super-stylish when they strike a pose for Glam-A-THON™.

So if you want to get the inside track on the next big things, and make a cool difference in the world, the Lipstick Lounge and Glam Doll Strut® absolutely must be on your bucket list – once you try it we guarantee it won’t be the last time you mug for the glam cam.
