City of Fort Lauderdale Hosts Annual Uptown 5K on Airport Runway

The Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) will close its runway for the event.

More than a thousand community members of all ages are expected to participate in a unique event that allows participants to run down the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport’s runway without the need for tickets, boarding passes, or baggage fees. The Uptown 5K on the Runway is a one-of-a-kind experience that will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18. The event celebrates aviation, the Uptown community and compassion towards others by donating the proceeds to the Trustbridge Hospice Foundation.
