This new initiative for foster youth was implemented on National Foster Care Day
On National Foster Care Day, State Representative Robin Bartleman and State Senate Democratic Leader Lori Berman joined community leaders at ChildNet in Broward County to spotlight a critical issue impacting children entering foster care: the lack of reusable duffle bags/luggage to carry their personal belongings. With the help of community partners, more than 100 reusable duffle bags and pieces of luggage were donated to local foster youth, replacing the all-too-common use of trash bags reinforcing a simple but powerful message of respect.
