Florida’s Children First 12th Annual Broward Fundraiser & Awards Reception

THE EVENT  Florida’s Children First (FCF), the statewide advocacy organization focused on protecting the legal rights of at-risk and foster care children, will recognize and honor Broward County child advocates and former foster children at FCF’s 12th annual Broward Awards Reception on Thursday, February 27.

FCF Executive Director Christina Spudeas, along with FCF President and Fort Lauderdale children’s rights attorney Howard Talenfeld, will lead the event. It is expected to draw 300 child advocates, elected officials, judges and community and business leaders.

The 2014 Child Advocate of the Year is the Children’s Service Council of Broward County.

“We are honoring the Children’s Services Council of Broward County because of their extraordinary work since September of 2000 in protecting at-risk children and in enhancing their lives,” says FCF President Howard Talenfeld.

According to Jesse Diner, “Children are our greatest resource and our future. FCF’s mission is to do everything we can to advocate for children’s rights.”
