House of Cool

On Oct. 15, VIXI Gelateria celebrated its grand opening on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Coral Gables Mayor James Cason. The lifelong dream of VIXI’s founder, Melissa Rodriguez Stam, to bring authentic and handcrafted gelato to Miami has come to fruition.

Everything about VIXI – from the moment you enter to your first taste – has been done with both a sense of tradition and a modern European flair of sophistication. The space uses a minimalist style of design by combining clean, white lines with wood to create a cozy and warm vibe. The gelateria makes the Italian specialty using traditional methods within a glass-encased “laboratory” in the heart of the store, where you can watch it being made from scratch.

All of VIXI’s gelato flavors are fatto a mano (handmade), offering a wide array of flavors from traditional chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and mango to innovative recipes of cinnamon baked apple and ricotta cheese with lemon and orange. Gelato is also available in gluten-free and vegan recipes and all flavors are certified Kosher.

Everything is transparent at VIXI, including its production area, the gelato pozzetti (pots) and the list of ingredients. VIXI can truly say that it is “the gelato with nothing to hide.”
