Isabella Kron Adds to Her Timeless Niche

The locally based designer with a rich fashion history unveils her new collection.

The résumé of Isabella Kron reads like a stroll down high fashion’s most prestigious runways.

The native of Italy broke into the industry in 1984 as a sales assistant at the Giorgio Armani boutique in Milan. Armani himself later selected Kron for a coveted paid internship in his atelier. Thus began an industry journey that included time with the design team at Calvin Klein and another dream invite—this one from Tom Ford, who sought out Kron to oversee his handbag line during the designer’s run as creative director for Gucci. Later, Ford traveled to South Florida to personally invite Kron to help him launch his eponymous brand in the mid-2000s.

A decade later, she finally took fashion matters into her own hands, launching the Isabella Kron brand, a line of lifestyle accessories and ready-to-wear pieces that recall the glamorous styles of Italy in the 1960s and ’70s. Kron, who resides in the south Palm Beach County town of Gulf Stream, remains as vital and vibrant as ever—as evidenced by her new collection that includes everything from skirts and jackets to belts, handbags, shoes and watches.

“The brand isn’t meant to be all-encompassing,” Kron says, “but rather our focus is on creating seasonless, timeless pieces that are chic and essential in every woman’s wardrobe.”

Among the best-sellers is the Ibbie bag, a hobo-shaped carry available in canvas and leather that starts at $950. Visit isabellakron.com to see all the pieces in the latest collection.
