Tell us about your dog and what makes them special to you.
Sadie is my little angel. She is a 9-year-old French Bulldog who has an old soul and a gentle spirit. I’ve loved many dogs in my lifetime, but I’ve never had a dog love me as deeply as Sadie does. It’s a bond unlike any other. She’s my constant companion, my shadow, and my greatest source of comfort. I often joke that she is like an appendage, always happily by my side no matter what I’m doing. But truthfully, her devotion is one of the greatest gifts in my life, and I feel blessed and lucky to be her “mom.”
Has your dog ever helped you through a tough time or big life change?
Absolutely. Sadie has been my rock through some of the hardest and most transformative times in my life – a health scare, a major career pivot, uprooting my life to move full-time to Florida, and the heartbreaking losses of several close family members and friends. Through every dark time and stressful moment, Sadie has been an unwavering pillar of support, providing love, grounding, and quiet strength. I cannot imagine having navigated those times without her.
What is your favorite pet charity or rescue organization and why?
One organization very close to my heart is The Human-Animal Alliance, which I founded in 2022. It was inspired by my belief in the extraordinary power of animals to enrich, heal, and transform peoples’ lives. H-AA supports other nonprofits across the country that promote human-animal connection in many ways, including keeping pets and people together, providing access to therapy animals for trauma survivors, reuniting pets and families after natural disasters, and more. We also advocate for the importance – and benefits – of a more pet-inclusive society.
