Kip Hunter-Epstein, Joey Epstein & Nitro

From client meetings to filet sliders, Nitro brings heart, humor, and a whole lot of smarts to the family business.

Tell us about your dog:

Nitro is a COVID dog. Kip was lonely working from home, so we got her a playmate, Nitro.  Although the spelling is slightly different, she is named after the UCF mascot. Our son, his wife and our two grandsons suggested the name and we thought it was great. She is a Teddy Bear, which is a Shih tzu/Bijon mix. Nitro has completely changed our lives for the better. As a good friend once said to us, “Every home should have a dog.”

Memorable Moments

Nitro goes to doggy day care (Central Bark) four days a week and loves her time with her friends. In addition, she enjoys dining with us. Her favorite restaurants are Eddie V’s, where she has the Filet “Nitro” Sliders, Heritage, where she loves the meatballs, and Camille’s Ristorante where chicken is her favorite. She seems to always know which nights she goes with us and which nights she’s not.  Very happy when she is going and very sad when she stays home. VERY SMART!

Her favorite game is fetch. Although she has a dozen balls, she loves to push them under the wall unit and then motion to us to get THAT one even though she has many more. Not so easy for us to get down on the floor and retrieve them for her!

Juggling Work and Personal

Nitro moonlights as the Chief Barketing Officer at Kip Hunter Marketing. She loves her job and greeting clients. Our work schedules are somewhat flexible so getting her to and from school generally works out.

Pet Law Rising

In South Florida, where dogs ride shotgun on Las Olas and appear in holiday cards alongside their owners, the line between pet and family member has long been blurred. Now, that shift is showing up somewhere perhaps a little less expected: the courtroom. As veterinary costs climb and pet insurance policies become more common, a new category of legal work is taking shape. It’s one
