With the economic and health impact of COVID-19 straining the resources for many families in South Florida, the annual Kiwanis of Delray’s “Swing for the Kids” Charity Golf Classic takes on extra importance as the pandemic continues. Proceeds from the golf event will benefit the Achievement Centers for Children & Families (ACCF) in Delray Beach, which provides educational and support programs for needy families in Palm Beach.
The tournament lasts from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 30 at the Westchester Golf & Country Club in Boynton Beach. The event will include a 4-person “Guaranteed Par” Best Ball start at $100 per golfer and will feature a $50,000 shootout between four players, an 18-hole best ball scramble, a $10,000 hole in one cash prize and three additional hole in one cash prizes. The putting contest winner will receive a VIP ticket to a sports event, while the closest to the pin winner will receive a resort getaway for two. The event will also feature other fun contests, raffle prizes and a BBQ lunch buffet. Every participant will receive a goody bag and can attend a reception after the golf tournament. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
