From May 31 to June 2, 2018, Lifestyle Media Group’s creative team set their sites on Orlando, Florida, to take part in Photoshop World, the world’s largest Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and photography conference.
“After 25 years in the creative industry, I learned more in three days than I have in 10 years,” said Lifestyle Media Creative Director Melanie Smit of the conference. “It was truly an incredible experience.”
A Beatles tribute band kicked off the event at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Orlando. Inspiration abounded with the likes of creative celebrities such as Scott Kelby, President and CEO of KelbyOne and the original “Photoshop Guy,”; Lindsay Adler, New York City-based fashion photographer and educator; and Julieanne Kost, Principal Digital Imaging Evangelist at Adobe Systems, just to name a few.
The conference was presented by KelbyOne and sponsored by Adobe Systems. Other sponsors and exhibitors included B&H Photo Video, Peachpit, Tamron, Westcott and more. All offered the latest and greatest tips, tricks, advice, tutorials and demonstrations.
“Learning from the experts is such a great experience,” said Lifestyle Media Art Director and Staff Photographer Evelyn Suarez. “They answered all of my questions and even stayed after class to answer more. Every class I attended, whether it was for photography or design, was so inspirational. I can’t wait to learn all the new tips and tricks next year.”
Lifestyle Media’s team participated in lectures series and a plethora of meet up and networking events such as Dinner With a Stranger and Midnight Madness (which was limited to 200 free tickets), the Partner Pavilion and KelbyOne Expert Bars.
The team left with inspiration for ideas, new techniques and new ways to improve their creative process. Call it coincidence, but in August, the Lifestyle Media’s Las Olas Lifestyle magazine the Florida Magazine Association’s Charlie Award for Best Overall Magazine (in the 20,000-under circulation category).
