LnS GALLERY in Miami Presents Arturo Rodriguez: Terra Incognita

LnS GALLERY will exhibit Arturo Rodriguez: Terra Incognita. This solo exhibition showcases his body of paintings reflecting the artist’s personal exploration of his internal psyche during the past three years. It is Rodriguez’s second solo exhibition at LnS Gallery in Miami.

Rodriguez’s art takes what’s in his mind and transfers it onto canvas to give viewers a glimpse into his internal imagination. His main inspirations often come from literature, from Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness to Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. A suite of four drawings from Rodríguez’s School of Night (2012-13) series was recently acquired and now form part of The Whitney Museum of American Art’s permanent collection, making Rodríguez one of only a handful of American, Cuban-born artists represented within the institution.

Arturo Rodríguez lives and works in Miami. He was awarded the Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in Visual Art in 2014 and is a two-time CINTAS Fellowship recipient (1982 and 1988). He holds an extensive exhibition history, with notable solo shows including Arcimboldo’s Ghosts, LnS Gallery, Miami, FL (2018), Arturo Rodriguez: The School of Night, shown across New York, NY and Miami (2014) and Exiles – Arturo Rodriguez, Durban Art Gallery, Madrid, Spain. His work resides in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY), the American Art Museum: Smithsonian (Washington, DC), The Israel Museum (Jerusalem), Maria Zambrano Museum (Malaga, Spain), Norton Museum of Art (West Palm Beach), Pérez Art Museum (Miami) and the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami.

LnS GALLERY is located at 2610 SW 28 Lane in Miami. For more information, please visit https://lnsgallery.com/
