
Miami-Dade County honors lives lost to COVID-19
Miami-Dade County joined the nation in honoring the 400,000 lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic yesterday.
In a statement, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said, “So many families have lost loved ones during this devastating year. Itโs important that we come together as a community and as a nation to mourn, reflect, and remember all those we have lost. We honor their lives by doing everything we can to protect our community and end this pandemic, as we work together for a better future.”
Joining the invitation to observe a moment of silence, several county landmarks illuminated in amber in tribute including Hard Rock Stadium, Marlins Park, Miami-Dade Courthouse, Miami International Airport and others. Check out some of the other tributes below.
