The South Florida founded chain invites the community to three days of grand opening festivities for its latest location, where customers can enjoy its signature Angus beef burgers, signature VegFi Burgers, fresh cut fries, local craft beers and creamy frozen custards. The grand opening is Nov. 12 with a public ribbon-cutting featuring Doral and Sweetwater officials, members of Doral Chamber of commerce, founders of In Jacob’s Shoes as well as free tastings. Ten percent of proceeds from that day will benefit In Jacob’s Shoes.
Chill-N Nitrogen Ice Cream (Chill-N) at 3415 Main Highway, Coconut Grove
Opening soon to the delight of sweet lovers in South Miami-Dade is the eighth location of South Florida’s first and largest liquid nitrogen ice cream brand. The store will feature a softer color palette, more lighting and a modern edge designed to highlight the ingredients while showcasing the entire nitrogen ice cream process. Customers are an active part of the process: they choose a portion size, ice cream base and flavor before adding a variety of toppings (candy, cookies, cereal, fruit, sauces, nuts and even Cuban coffee). Each scoop of ice cream is hand-crafted to order and flash frozen on the spot using liquid nitrogen at a startling -320° Fahrenheit.
Shady Distillery at 616 NW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale
Located in 20,000 square feet beside the Sistrunk Marketplace & Brewery, which opened in September, the Shady Distillery’s theme is inspired by Florida’s long history of controversy, and suspect events. The Distillery reflects on all those considered shady and will be creating craft spirits inspired by these shady moments in time. Some of the first batches from head distiller Jonny VerPlanck include “Shady” Vodka, seven times distilled from corn and gluten free and carb free with no sweeteners or additives, and “‘RECOUNT 2020” Vodka. Up next, “Shady” Experience Tasting Tours and small-batch custom labeling for the holidays.
Trader Joe’s at 2796 N. University Drive, Coral Springs
The popular grocery chain recently opened its 20th Florida location at Coral Springs destination The Walk. The 12,700 square foot store offers Trader Joe’s favorites and features artwork that pays tribute to local landmarks and attractions, including the National Everglades Park, South Florida wildlife, tropical foliage and fun year-round activities enjoyed by locals.
Primark, Sawgrass Mills, 12801 W. Sunrise Blvd., Sunrise
International retailer Primark chose the outlet mall as its 11th store in the United States. Creating 300 jobs, the 36,800 square foot store features women’s, men’s and children’s fashion including footwear, accessories, as well as lingerie and homeware. Plus, the store’s own product range is made with sustainable, recycled and organic materials.
