Pinecrest’s Very First Traffic Circle

The new traffic circle is completed and provides a very smooth transition across a busy intersection at 60th Avenue and 104th Street. We are often afraid of change, and building the first traffic circle in the Village caused much angst to many residents who drive along 60th Avenue. However, traffic consultants have recommended a traffic circle to slow traffic on this highly traveled street and the Transportation Advisory Committee served as a venue for several meetings to discuss the project with residents who live in the area and other interested residents. Since its completion, the Village has heard only positive feedback as residents find it much smoother driving through that intersection. The Village Council formally dedicated the circle on October 13.
