Feeding South Florida. The 10th annual Outrun Hunger 5K goes from the street to homes and neighborhoods to promote Hunger Action Month, raise awareness on food insecurity and end hunger in South Florida.
The 5K raises funds for Feeding South Florida’s efforts in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties where the organization says the need for food assistance has doubled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeding South Florida provides nine meals for every $1 donated.
As part of the virtual event, participants can run or walk a 5K route while sharing photos with the hashtag #FeedingSouthFlorida.
The event, presented by JM Family Enterprises, takes place Sept. 26, 7 a.m.-5:45 p.m. Click here to register. Tickets are $30 and $20 for students. For sponsorship opportunities, contact Michele Fernandez at [email protected] or 954.518.1818, ext. 1863.
Rotary Club of Weston. The Rotary Club of Weston is getting ready to host its Rotary Run for Tomorrow and Health & Fitness Festival on Dec. 6.
