Slow Burn Theatre’s 2025/26 Season Hits All the Right Notes

Slow Burn Theatre Company Sets the Stage for a Spectacular Season at the Broward Center

In a year already packed with stunning performances and award-winning acclaim, Slow Burn Theatre Company raises the curtain on its most exciting lineup yet. As part of the 2025/2026 season at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Slow Burn will present five powerhouse productions that blend musical brilliance with powerful storytelling. The company current season includes the uproarious hit, Something Rotten!, which runs March 29 through April 13, 2025 followed by The Bodyguard – The Musical, which runs June 7 through June 22, 2025.

Something Rotten! (March 29 – April 13, 2025) – With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, Something Rotten! tells the hilarious tale of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they navigate the cutthroat world of Elizabethan theatre. When a soothsayer predicts the future of performance will include singing, dancing, and acting all at once, the Bottom brothers embark on a wild journey to write the world’s first musical. Described as “Broadway’s big, fat hit!” by the New York Post, this show promises a side-splitting, tap-dancing romp that will leave audiences laughing long after the curtain falls.

The Bodyguard (June 7-June 22, 2025) – Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. A breathtakingly romantic thriller and West End smash hit, The Bodyguard features a host of irresistible classics including “Queen of the Night,” “So Emotional,” “One Moment in Time,” “Saving All My Love,” “Run to You,” “I Have Nothing,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and one of the biggest-selling songs of all time: “I Will Always Love You.”

Catch Me If You Can (Oct. 11–26, 2025) – The season opens with this fast-paced, high-flying musical based on the DreamWorks film about con artist Frank Abagnale, Jr. Featuring a swinging score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and a book by Terrence McNally, this musical is as clever as it is charming.

Disney’s Frozen (Dec. 13–28, 2025) – Experience the beloved story of sisterhood and empowerment like never before in this dazzling stage adaptation featuring all the iconic songs plus new music written just for the Broadway stage. Hairspray (Apr. 11–26, 2026) – Big hair, big dreams, and big laughs abound in this Tony Award-winning crowd-pleaser about one girl’s fight to integrate a 1960s Baltimore dance show. With catchy tunes, heartfelt moments, and loads of humor, Hairspray is an uplifting celebration of acceptance.

Jagged Little Pill (June 13–28, 2026) – Inspired by Alanis Morissette’s seminal album, this raw and emotionally powerful musical tackles themes of identity, pain, and healing through a gripping family narrative. Winner of multiple Tony and Grammy Awards, Jagged Little Pill is an unforgettable theatrical experience.

“During our 2025–2026 season, we are excited to present a thrilling mix of bold, talked-about productions with powerful, socially relevant storylines,” said Slow Burn Theatre Artistic Director Patrick Fitzwater. “These musicals are filled with vibrant characters, timeless music, and emotional resonance.
