The Blakery Continues Expansion Thanks to Blake Warman’s Entrepreneurship Aspirations

The creation was born out of a University of Miami dorm.

Blake Warman never imagined he would become known as one of the “Cookie Kings” in the industry. His journey to cookie stardom began with an attempt to avoid sweets. Growing up in Long Island, Warman struggled with his weight. He committed to making a change during his senior year of high school. Following a disciplined fitness journey, he lost 80 pounds, but despite adopting many new habits, he couldn’t shake his sweet tooth. At 17 years old, he discovered solace in baking for others and, after numerous trials, perfected his now-famous six-ounce cookie recipe. Gifting these delicious treats brought him immense joy and the overwhelmingly positive feedback prompted friends and family to ask, “When will you start selling these?”

Upon moving to South Florida to pursue his education at The University of Miami, Warman never envisioned a career in cookies. However, as he honed his skills, demand for his delectable products surged. In 2019, he established The Blakery in his dorm room. With the increasing buzz, he transitioned to digital platforms, launching a website that caused orders to soar as his unconventional treats gained traction on Instagram.

In crafting a dozen distinct flavors, each infused with various confections and artistically topped. The Blakery stood out due to its cookies’ homely, nostalgic taste. This winning formula propelled The Blakery to a surge in online orders and rapid growth. Subsequently, The Blakery secured a sought-after spot at Time Out Market in Miami Beach until it ceased operations in 2023. Since then, Warman has focused on nationwide delivery while serving his loyal South Florida fanbase.

To date, Warman’s most significant project is just around the corner—a comprehensive rebrand that will transform The Blakery. The most recent iteration of Warman’s cookie creations debuted last month.

“I was a kid when what would become The Blakery got started,” says Warman, who now calls Miami home. “Much has happened since then and it happened fast. With this rebrand and relaunch, I finally had a chance to make sure my brand, my personality and my product were all on the same page.”

In February 2023, Warman traveled to London with 25 other entrepreneurs to audition for a spot on the upcoming season of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars television show on FOX. This high-stakes competition series showcases U.S. contestants filmed across Ramsay’s native Britain. Professionals from the food and beverage industry, such as Warman, face various challenges designed to highlight their skills, as Ramsay and Lisa Vanderpump search for the next great culinary entrepreneur.

Warman has shown great dedication and perseverance through his achievements with The Blakery. Despite not initially aiming to be an entrepreneur, the 24-year-old has proven himself as one. He constantly pushes boundaries and has even more plans for the brand.

“I envision us becoming not just a cookie company but a beloved brand known for our commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. I see us expanding our reach, captivating new audiences, and becoming a household name synonymous with delicious treats and memorable experiences”, Warman says. “My hope is that as The Blakery evolves, we never lose sight of our core values—fun, creativity, and community. I want to continue pushing the limits of what’s possible in the world of baking while staying true to the traditions and flavors that make us who we are.”
