Electric Run MLB All-Star 5K

  • Run, walk or dance your way through five electrifying courses inspired by sweets, rainbows, the rainforest and the ocean—with Major League baseball players by your side. A DJ will spin beats in the dance zone to pump up runners on their way to the finish line and the after-party, featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Lil Jon.
  • When: 8 p.m.
  • Price: $34.99 (price will increase the day of)
  • Where: Bayfront Park (301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami)

Subtropics

  • This summer presents the 24th edition of the globally recognized, experimental biennial of music and sound art. The summer festival will feature live concerts, sound art installations, workshops and films in hope of igniting the lost art of listening. Performances run until July 22, exhibitions and installations run until Sept. 3.
  • Sound Arts Workshop: Christoph Cox will discuss the philosophical issues in sound art and experimental music.
    • When: 10 a.m.–noon, 2–4 p.m.
    • Where: ArtCenter Downtown (1035 N. Miami Ave., Suite 300, Miami)
  • Dissolution B: This is an immersive cinematic sound piece with no screen or images. Presented in a dark theater space, Olivia Block processes and mixes and electronically processes layers of prepared sounds through a laptop, diffusion interface and mixing board.
    • When: 9 p.m.
    • Where: Audiotheque, ArtCenter/South Florida (924 Lincoln Road, Studio 201, Miami Beach)

The Funk Legends of R&B

  • Con Funk Shun, Steve Arrington and Cherelle will perform live.

Stand Up To Cancer concert

  • Stand Up To Cancer ambassador Jennifer Hudson is headlining a concert at the Masterpass House during All-Star Weekend.

  • The counter-service cafe—known for its sandwiches, salads, baked goods and chill vibe—is now offering handmade ice pops to help beat the heat. The treats, which are a collaboration with local ice cream supplier Lady Fingrs, come in unique flavors made with fresh ingredients, including lychee rosewater, strawberry mint, watermelon, oreo and chocolate lava. New flavors will be rotated into the mix. Spike it: Customers can now order the alcohol-infused Moscow Mule and Aperol Spritz pops.
