Electric Run MLB All-Star 5K

  • Run, walk or dance your way through five electrifying courses inspired by sweets, rainbows, the rainforest and the ocean—with Major League baseball players by your side. A DJ will spin beats in the dance zone to pump up runners on their way to the finish line and the after-party, featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Lil Jon.
  • When: 8 p.m.

Subtropics

  • This summer presents the 24th edition of the globally recognized, experimental biennial of music and sound art. The summer festival will feature live concerts, sound art installations, workshops and films in hope of igniting the lost art of listening. Performances run until July 22, exhibitions and installations run until Sept. 3.
  • Sound Arts Workshop: Christoph Cox will discuss the philosophical issues in sound art and experimental music.
    • When: 10 a.m.–noon, 2–4 p.m.
    • Where: ArtCenter Downtown (1035 N. Miami Ave., Suite 300, Miami)
  • Dissolution B: This is an immersive cinematic sound piece with no screen or images. Presented in a dark theater space, Olivia Block processes and mixes and electronically processes layers of prepared sounds through a laptop, diffusion interface and mixing board.

The Funk Legends of R&B

  • Con Funk Shun, Steve Arrington and Cherelle will perform live.
