What: The comedian and host of The Daily Show, is known for his insightful views on politics as well as his stories of growing up as a biracial child in South Africa. His “Loud and Clear” tour sold out Madison Square Garden in New York City and promises to keep the laughs going on its expanded itinerary.

Monty Alexander Trio
When: Jan. 18, 8 p.m.
Where: Bailey Hall, 3501 Davie Road, Davie
What: The jazz master of Jamaican heritage plays jazz piano and a melodica (keyboarded wind instrument) with influences from the Caribbean, Frank Sinatra, Oscar Peterson and more.


Flamingo Fest
When: Jan. 18-19, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Where: Flamingo Gardens, 3750 S. Flamingo Road, Davie
What: Celebrating familiar flamingo kitsch, the festival features flamingo-inspired work by local artists throughout the gardens as well as retro music, entertainment, food contests and flamingo-inspired arts and crafts. Visitors are welcome to enter their decorated garden flamingos in a contest and view the exhibit “A Flamboyance of Flamingos.”
