Florida Renaissance Festival

When: Weekends, Feb. 8-March 22, 10 a.m.-sunset

Where: Quiet Waters Park, 401 Powerline Road, Deerfield Beach

What: Visitors are encouraged to dress up in costume for themed weekends including vikings, time travelers, pirates, and—new this year—heroes and villains and the Tudors/Henry VIII. Plus, the 28th annual festival features an array of artisans, performers and entertainment acts.



Scenes from an Italian Restaurant: The Music of Billy Joel

When: Feb 13-16 & 20-23

Where: Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton

What: The storytelling music of Billy Joel comes to life in this production, which combines three of his songs to tell a love story along with music from Elton John and the Four Seasons.



The Academy

When: Feb. 13-April 25

Where: The Frank, 601 City Center Way, Pembroke Pines

What: Students and alumni of the Florida International University’s Academy of Portrait & Figurative Art present their work for the first time in this exhibit.

Deerfield Beach Pioneer Days

When: Feb. 14-16

Where: Main Beach Parking Lot, 149 SE 21st Ave., Deerfield Beach

What: Deerfield Beach celebrates its origins with a three-day festival with a parade, fireworks, live entertainment, food, carnival and arts and crafts as well as a family fun zone with free popcorn, cotton candy and games.

When: Feb. 15, 8 p.m.

Where: Broward Center

What: The Emmy Award winner, known for his memorable appearances on TV shows such as King of Queens and Parks and Recreation embarks on his “I Love Everything” tour, based on his most recent special, sharing the frank and, at times, heartbreaking laughs that have endeared him to audiences.



Andy’s Family Pasta Dinner

When: Feb. 16, 4-7 p.m.

Where: Signature Grand, 6900 W. State Road 84, Davie

What: The traditional pasta dinner celebrates its 18th annual event, hosted by Andy Cagenetta, who gathers honorary chefs from around the community to benefit LifeNet4Families and teach children the importance of giving back.
