What: The Broadway phenomenon has swept through the country and the world with its innovative presentation of the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton, the United States’ first secretary of the treasury. Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the musical combines hip-hop, rap, blues and jazz.

What: The celebrated comedian performs at the newly improved Hard Rock Live, with two shows featuring the observational comedy that has made his fans and viewers of his hit sitcom laugh for 40 years.



Riverwalk Chili Cook Off

When: Feb. 22, noon-4 p.m.

Where: Esplanade Park, 400 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale

What: Professional and amateur cooks cook their best chili recipes in support of local charities.



Light Up the Night 5K Run

When: Feb. 22, 6:30-9 p.m.

Where: Charles F. Dodge City Center

What: The third annual event benefits Pembroke Pines Charter School Foundation with the theme “Party on the Run.”



Philharmonia No. 4

When: Feb. 22, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Wold Performing Arts Center

What: Celebrating Beethoven’s 250 anniversary by performing Symphony No. 9 as well as music by Copland and Adams.


Il Volo

When: Feb. 22, 8 p.m.

Where: BB&T Center

What: The young Italian trio—made up of Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble and Ignazio Boschetto—is touring the world in celebration of 10 years of sharing their love for music around the world. They sing traditional Italian favorites like “O Sole Mio” and “Il Mondo,” original “popera” melodies such as “Grand Amore” and new takes on standards like “My Way.”



Broward College Symphony Band

When: Feb. 23, 2 p.m.

Where: Bailey Hall, 3501 Davie Road, Davie

What: The band presents Music for All, featuring new selections by composers from Broward College’s wind band as well as favorite selections.

Where: Miramar Regional Park

What: The ANF Group presents this 11th annual tradition, which benefits the families of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. It features a 5K run, 3K walk, play area for children, and 50K and 100K bicycle rides.


Rod Stewart

When: Feb. 23, 7 p.m.

Where: Hard Rock Live

What: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his solo career, Stewart embarks on a tour to remind audiences why he has sold more than 250 million records worldwide. He presents “A Night of Hits,” performing unforgettable melodies such as “You Wear It Well,” “Maggie May,” “Forever Young” and “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy.”



Nicole Yarling

What: The violinist presents One Song: Celebrating the African Diaspora—music from West Africa and how its traveled around the world.
