WHAT: ArtServe and The Bonnet House present an exhibition featuring contemporary and modern art from Floridian creators. The mixed-media exhibit presents an immersive experience through sensory events, projections and performance art.

WHAT: Having starred in a variety of television shows and films, including one self-produced sitcom and multiple talk shows, this actor and humanitarian visits South Florida to share her wit and ingenuity.

WHEN: April 26, 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Bailey Hall

WHAT: This immersive media performance gives the audience a visualization of earth from space in partnership with NASA, accompanied by live music and dance.

WHEN: April 26

WHERE: Weston Hills Country Club

WHAT: The 32nd annual Golf Classic will include 18 holes of golf, a buffet, awards, and raffle items. The event is sponsored by Freedland Harwin Valori, PL, whose founding partner is a longtime Weston resident. Proceeds from the tournament will go toward scholarships presented to local seniors as well as the HANDY foundation.


Saturday, April 27

Southeast Police Motorcycle Rodeo

WHEN: April 27, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

WHERE: Pompano Citi Centre

WHAT: The 30th annual motorcycle rodeo benefitting C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) includes a motorcycle obstacle course and a raffle to win a 2016 Harley Davidson. Police agencies from all areas of Florida participate in the fun as they test their motorcycle safety skills throughout the day.


Young At Art 30th Anniversary featured image

WHEN: April 27, 7 p.m.

WHERE: Young at Art Museum

WHAT: Celebrate 30 years of art and community support with Young at Art. Enjoy an interactive BarCade & Beer Garden featuring craft beers from local breweries and a sneak preview of the upcoming ArtCade exhibit. The evening will also feature tasting booths and signature cocktails alongside a live performance from Kendra Morris (pictured).


Flip Flops on the Docks

WHEN: April 27

WHERE: Lauderdale Yacht Club

WHAT: The 14th annual MEDNAX Flip Flops on the Docks event, benefitting Jack & Jill Children’s Center, will include food, dancing, and cocktails along the Intracoastal. All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the children and families at Jack & Jill.


Puppy Pop Up

WHEN: April 27, 2 p.m.

WHERE: Beach House Pompano

WHAT: Beach House Pompano will partner with The Great Florida Homes Team to help local pups find forever homes with a meet-and-greet of adoptable dogs on the Beach House scenic rooftop. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Feeling Fine Canine & Rescue Group.

WHAT: Experience zen with this free one-hour yoga class hosted by Yoga Connection. The class is open to all levels of yogis, and participants can stay after class for a complimentary cocktail from Brimstone.

Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash 5K

WHEN: April 28; registration 6-7 a.m.; race 7:30 to 11 a.m.

WHERE: Huizenga Plaza

WHAT: Mothers Against Drunk Driving of Broward County hosts the ninth annual walk and run event to raise awareness and funds for victims of drunk driving. The event also features children’s activities, an awards ceremony, live music and local vendors.


Birds ‘n’ Bubbles

WHEN: April 28, 11 a.m.

WHERE: Panther Coffee

WHAT: Celebrity chef Amaris Jones will host this Sunday brunch pop-up in celebration of her new concept, Chick in Jones. Enjoy organic Chicken and Waffles and specialty Cascara Mimosas along with more delicious brunch bites.


Davie Jazz Festival

When: April 28, 2 p.m.

Where: Bergeron Rodeo Grounds

What: This inaugural event will feature jazz artists like Marion Meadows and Kim Waters as well as performances by local high schools.

WHEN: April 28, 5 p.m.

WHERE: Boca West Country Club

WHAT: The National Society of Arts & Letters, Florida East Coast Chapter will host the second annual Star Maker Awards, featuring presentation of scholarships and awards to local thespians, musicians, and artists as well as the presentation of the lifetime achievement award to Marilynn Wick, founder of the Wick Theatre and Costume Museum.
